  • Overview

    We are currently seeking a P/T or F/T Civil/ Structural Engineer in Spokane, WA to assist in the determination of the origin, cause and extent of failures, water intrusions, construction defects, premises liability investigations and other failures for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes. Requires a strong background and understanding of technical aspects for both commercial and residential building envelope systems, building codes, ADA guidelines, and construction documents preparation. Assignments will include site evaluations, oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.  Provide opinions and expert testimony.  Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and oversee field-testing. Must possess strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations to clients for the purposes of both litigation support and marketing. 



    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND Duties - Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

    • Performs forensic assignments within the field of civil/structural engineering expertise based upon a scope of work and budget prepared by the consultant and agreed upon by the client in advance of performing the work.
    • Field Investigations: Study and determine the cause and origin of construction defects or structural failures.
    • Produces written forensic reports detailing the causes and origins of construction defects, damage, and/or structural failures.
    • May serve as team leader or project manager. May be required to supervise and/or evaluate performance of associate team members.
    • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.



    • B.S. Civil or Structural Engineering degree or higher
    • Washington PE License required, Idaho and Oregon a plus
    • 5 - 8 years’ experience
    • Project Engineering/Management experience preferred
    • Independent judgment; strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to climb roofs and lift up to 50 pounds
    • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint – knowledge of a variety of computer software
    • applications including but not limited to, Microsoft Office Applications and computer assisted engineering and design software
    • General Contractor Experience &/or Contractors License a plus
