Overview

We are seeking a mid-career Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience in heavy industrial plant project management/design/construction and/or operation of downstream power and petrochemical facilities to support operations in our Houston office.   The candidate should be familiar with pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, combustion and steam turbines, compressors, pumps, fired heaters, power boilers and piping systems.  Knowledge of design codes (ASME, API, NFPA) and OSHA regulations would be a plus.  In return for your talent and effort, we offer our full-time employees a competitive benefits package—including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, employer-matching 401(k), a flexible work schedule, and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

This position will entail field investigations, direct client interaction and preparing reports discussing the findings into the causes of equipment and operational failures.  Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have experience in Failure Analysis (Root Cause Analysis).  Trial or deposition experience as an expert witness is also a plus.  Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.  They must also have a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, as needed to complete investigations, analysis and reports.  The successful candidate will have a strong customer service mentality, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate effectively with peers and with clients who do not have a technical background.

Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a PE License in the state of Texas (or the ability to obtain).
  • This position requires some physicality and all applicants should be capable, as a minimum, of lifting 50 pounds and performing outdoor work in varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Some travel will be required, typically within the Continental United States.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and professional experience with heavy industrial facilities
  • Minimum 10 years’ of experience
