Overview

Would you like all the advantages of living wherever you want and work from a home based office along with being associated with a leader in the forensic engineering field?  We are currently seeking experienced Structural Engineers to support operations throughout the United States and in response to catastrophic weather events. Responsibilities

Essential job responsibilities will include travel up to every other week (most likely every third week) throughout the US to complete assessments of the conditions of existing commercial structures; residential investigations of distressed foundations and building systems; Supervision of structural and geotechnical investigations; Remedial structural and foundation designs for distressed structures. Analyze, assess and determine the cause and origin of structural damage and failures, construction defects, foundation issues, moisture intrusion, evaluation the extent of damage to building envelopes as a result of storms and natural catastrophes, fire & explosion damage of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Conduct field evaluations and provide verbal and written reports of findings. Provide expert testimony via depositions or in a court of law as required.  Maintain our client relationships by providing and maintaining the companies high standard of customer service and client communications. Multitask; work to meet schedule commitments of multiple assignments.

Qualifications

  • BS Civil or Structural Engineering and 10+ years’ experience
  • PE license required along with willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a PE license in other key states
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Live within 1 ½ hours from a commercial airport
  • We are looking for outgoing individuals that will interact well with staff, clients, business owners, and homeowners. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to perform inspections on construction sites and on ladders/roofs.
