Overview

Would you like to work with a distinguished group of engineers and be associated with a leader in the forensic engineering field?  We are currently seeking an experience Structural Engineer to support operations in our Jackson office and in response to catastrophic weather events. Responsibilities

Essential job responsibilities will include assessing the conditions of existing commercial structures; Residential investigations of distressed foundations and building systems; Supervision of structural and geotechnical investigations; Remedial structural and foundation designs for distressed structures. You will analyze, assess and determine the cause and origin of structural damage and failures, construction defects, foundation issues, and moisture intrusion. You will also evaluate the extent of damage to building envelopes as a result of storms and natural catastrophes, as well as fire and explosion damage to residential, commercial and industrial buildings. After conducting field evaluations, you will provide verbal and written reports of findings. As needed, you will also provide expert testimony via depositions or in a court of law.  All of our engineers maintain our client relationships by providing and maintaining the company’s high standard of customer service and client communications. You will be expected to multitask and complete the work necessary to meet schedule commitments of multiple assignments.

Qualifications

  • BS Structural Engineering and 10+ years’ experience
  • PE license required along with willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a PE license in other key states
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to travel in the office proximity area with a minimum amount of overnight travel required
  • We are looking for outgoing individuals that will interact well with staff, clients, business owners, and homeowners. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to perform inspections on construction sites and on ladders/roofs.
